Either of these two basic strategies can involve traditional nucleic acid-based approaches, such as nucleic acid analogs as antiviral drugs or DNA-encoded vaccines.

    A wide research area ranging from the synthesis to the application of nucleic acid analogs will be covered in this Special Issue. I would like to cordially invite everyone to submit research articles and comprehensive reviews dealing with this research area. The course builds on the chemistry knowledge acquired in other courses, e.g. FF, KE, KE, KE, KE, KE, FY, BMB or BMB, and gives an academic basis for studying the topics of nucleic acid chemistry and nanotechnology that are part of the degree, e.g. in the master project.
